ABOUT JONATHAN LEVY
Jonathan graduated from Macalester College in 1991, and the University of Minnesota Law Schoold in 1996. While at law school Jonathan served on the law review and performed research and writing for a think tank called the Institue on Race and Poverty. He graduated Cum Laude.
After Law School, Jonathan went into public service, representing low-income indiviiduals and families in civil cases. Over 17 years at Bronx Legal Services, he prevented evictions and foreclosures, helped clients access needed services, and brought actions to enforce the rights of vulnerable people
In 2015 Jonathan started his own practice to bring that same dedication to meeting the needs of working and middle-income individuals and families. I am providing affordable direct represenation, and helping other small firms keep their services affordable by providing freelance services.
Jonathan has succesfully handled all phases of litigation in Civil and Supreme Court, represented clients in administrative proceedings, and briefed and argued appeals before the Appellate Division.
Noteworthy decisions Jonathan has achieved include:
*Cicale v. Wachovia Bank, 56 A.D.3rd 392 (1st Dep’t 2008)(holding homeowner made sufficient showing her signature was forged to surivice summary judgment.)
*1212 Grand Concourse v. Ynguil, 27 Misc.3d 205 (Civ. Ct. Bx. Co. 2010)(landlord could not evict tenant because her Section 8 subsidy was terminated, where the subsidy was terminated for landlord’s failure to make repairs.)
